in 1968 joe leonard drove one of andy granatellis stp lotus designed wedge shaped turbines cars and should have won the race but a fuel shaft broke while he was leading with only nine laps to go to the checkered flag. there were several of these cars in the race and Leonard's was painted with a bright yellow nose and tire walls so his crew could spot him

Being born in Detroit and having lived all my life in Motown, cars would only naturally become a subject for my artistic expression. My Automotive work tends to be not merely a photo with a filter applied, but carefully crafted digital paintings designed to capture the beauty of the subject car. I work in a rather traditional manner, avoiding the use of filters and digital tricks preferring to paint what I want using a Wacom Cintiq LCD display drawing tablet and programs like Photoshop and Corel Painter.
