The Lotus 38 was the model number of the car driven by Jimmy Clark at the 1965 Indy 500. About David Kyte
Being born in Detroit and having lived all my life in Motown, cars would only naturally become a subject for my artistic expression. My Automotive work tends to be not merely a photo with a filter applied, but carefully crafted digital paintings designed to capture the beauty of the subject car. I work in a rather traditional manner, avoiding the use of filters and digital tricks preferring to paint what I want using a Wacom Cintiq LCD display drawing tablet and programs like Photoshop and Corel Painter. This affords me the freedom to create images I want and not just what a photos allows, All the advantages of traditional media but without having to clean brushes. Because these are digital I work LARGE! creating high resolution...

The Lotus 38 and Gurney's Eagle, I think, are two of the most beautiful race cars ever created. It's good to see that you have chosen to memorialize Clark, Lotus and this car with your superlative art.
